Hampton High School girls and boys basketball teams advance to state finals

Hampton High School (HHS) girls and boys basketball teams have advanced to the Class 4 state finals. The girls scored a 66-56 win over Monacan High School and the boys triumphed over Varina High School 51-49 in semi-final games on Friday, March 1, 2024. 

On Friday, March 8, 2024, the VCU Siegel Center (1200 W Broad St, Richmond, VA 23284) will host the Class 4 state final girls and boys basketball match-ups. The girls will play Woodgrove High School at 12:30 p.m. The boys will play Tuscarora High School at 2:30 p.m. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.

Tickets are available for purchase online only through VCU for $10 + $2.00 delivery charge each. Children under six are free and there is no re-entry. Tickets will not be available at the door.

Justin Vias, HHS athletic director said, “We are witnessing history with both teams making it to this level of the state tournament. Please congratulate our student athletes for having the opportunity to bring home a state championship.”
